Thought for the Day

"Love is the most necessary of all virtues. Love in the person who preaches the word of God is like fire in a musket. If a person were to throw a bullet with his hands, he would hardly make a dent in anything; but if the person takes the same bullet and ignites some gunpowder behind it, it can kill. It is much the same with the word of God. If it is spoken by someone who is filled with the fire of charity — the fire of love of God and neighbor — it will work wonders."

Finally...I Am a Published Musician!

A year and a half after acquiring the music software program Sibelius 6, I have published my first two scores on ScoreExchange.com (the new website which is the successor to SibeliusMusic.com). This is an exciting moment for me as a burgeoning composer and arranger of classical piano music.

My first score is a fairly simple arrangement of "O Holy Night," which can be found here: http://www.scoreexchange.com/scores/115949.html

The other score is an instrumental piano piece called "Death and Resurrection." This is a tribute to my Uncle Carl, who died of cancer some months back. It's here: http://www.scoreexchange.com/scores/116000.html

Note: To view and listen to these scores you need Scorch, which is the free downloadable program that the site uses to play back Sibelius scores.

I'm currently working on a brand-new arrangement of "We Three Kings" that I hope will be ready soon. I plan to write my own arrangements of other Christmas hymns and other favorite traditional hymns, as well as to produce occasional original compositions.

I look forward to writing lots more music! God has given me this wonderful gift and I plan to use it for His glory.
